Our research showed that most healthcare waiting rooms prioritize the number of seats over the needs of the people using the space. This approach often overlooks specific user needs, like those of bariatric or geriatric patients, where standard solutions can feel alienating or highlight differences unnecessarily.​​

 

With these insights, we saw an opportunity to rethink the healthcare aesthetic: making spaces more inclusive, comforting, familiar, and residential— especially helpful during times of uncertainty.
